Strawberry Angel Bday Donut (Extra Large)

I made this Angel white powdered donut cake for a good friend of mine's birthday.  He doesn't like celebrating his birthdays so it makes it difficult to know what to do for him.  But I wanted him to know that I was thinking of him because he's such an awesome friend. So I figured that I could drop some donuts off at his job.  I found this 'Big Donut Top Maker' at Marshall's for $5.99! The 'Big Donut Top Maker' are cake molds to bake a cake in the shape of a doughnut & it was so easy to do!

I think the trick is to make sure to spray the molds really well with baking spray and dust flour afterwards. I followed the instructions from the cake box & left it in the refrigerator overnight. Leaving it in the fridge over night helped remove the cake from the molds without breaking apart. I added frosting & fresh strawberries in between.

  1. Hahaha, love it. So cute! But you need to stop using cake mix! Make your own batter, girl!

  2. haha! I usually make my own batter but never made angel cake before & didn't have the time to risk it. I'm going try to make my own batter next though!
